ULTIMATE KENYA WILDLIFE photo safari
12 DAYS / 11 NIGHTS

TOUR OVERVIEW
Join me for a 12-day photographic safari through Southern Kenya’s most legendary wildlife destinations — a diverse and immersive experience designed to deliver everything from iconic elephant portraits to underground hide photography and the raw drama of the Great Migration.
We start in Amboseli National Park, also known as the Land of the Elephants, where over 1,600 elephants roam the dusty plains beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. This is home to Michael — one of the last remaining super tuskers in Africa — and with the help of expert local trackers, we’ll position ourselves for powerful, once-in-a-lifetime encounters.
Next, we move to the Masai Mara National Reserve, where the focus shifts to predator-prey dynamics and the movement of wildebeest herds. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and even elusive species like leopard and serval roam this vast ecosystem. We’ll photograph them in golden light, track hunts in real time, and, if timed right, capture the energy and chaos of river crossings during the Great Migration.
Finally, we travel south to Shompole Conservancy, one of Kenya’s best-kept photographic secrets. Here we’ll spend three nights using a professionally designed underground hide that puts us eye-level with elephants, predators, and other wildlife as they visit a nearby waterhole — day and night. It’s intimate, raw, and creatively challenging in all the right ways.
This safari blends variety, comfort, and full creative support. With just three guests, expert guidance, and flexible shooting opportunities, I’ll be right beside you every step of the way — helping you anticipate, adapt, and create images with depth, power, and personal meaning.
PHOTO SAFARI HIGHLIGHTS
Iconic Amboseli: Elephants & Kilimanjaro in One Frame
Start the trip with timeless compositions—photographing large herds of elephants across the open plains of Amboseli, framed by the towering backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Super Tusker Encounters You’ll Never Forget
With help from local trackers, we’ll search for two of Africa’s last known Super Tuskers—massive elephants with tusks that nearly touch the ground. These moments are rare, powerful, and deeply moving to photograph.
Big Cats & Migration Mayhem in the Masai Mara
We spend four nights in the Mara at the peak of the migration, photographing river crossings, massive herds, and the predators that follow—lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas—on the hunt or in golden light.
Eye-Level Wildlife from a Custom Underground Hide
In Shompole Conservancy, we’ll shoot from a professionally built photo hide—capturing nocturnal behavior, predator tension, and low-light scenes with animals just meters from the lens.
Effortless Travel, Creative Freedom
With charter flights, luxury camps, private vehicles, and expert mentorship, everything’s designed so you can stay focused on your photography—not the logistics.

EXPERT GUIDANCE
As your guide and photography mentor, I’ll be by your side throughout the journey — helping you anticipate moments, refine your composition, and tell stronger visual stories. This is hands-on, in-the-field instruction designed to meet you where you are and push your photography further.
We’re also supported by exceptional local guides, whose deep understanding of the land and wildlife ensures we’re always positioned for the best possible encounters — often before the action even starts.
At the end of each day, you’ll return to carefully selected lodges, where professional staff take care of everything else: warm hospitality, delicious meals, and a comfortable space to rest, recharge, and get ready for the next day’s adventure.

EQUIPMENT TO BRING
CAMERA BODY:
Guests are encouraged to bring a camera body with a minimum of 24-megapixels to guarantee the best results while on safari. This can be mirrorless or a DSLR, as your photo host is experienced with both and will be able to offer assistance whenever need be.
A second camera body is always a great consideration, however, this is not mandatory. This can be used as a backup, or you can keep a second lens attached and switch back and forth between cameras.
LENSES:
24–70mm lens: Ideal for hide photography in Shompole, where close-range animal encounters provide opportunities for stunning wide-angle compositions. Also excellent for full-body portraits of Super Tuskers in Amboseli, especially with the dramatic Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop.
70–200mm lens: Offers the perfect mid-range focal length for both hide work and elephant photography, allowing you to isolate subjects and capture intimate moments with beautiful background compression.
500mm lens (prime or zoom): Highly recommended for the Masai Mara, where you’ll want maximum reach to capture predator action, distant wildlife, and sweeping savannah scenes. This lens delivers excellent detail and impact, especially during fast-paced game drives.
